Then I gave three very specific reasons (and gave evidence to back it up) to illustrate why they should hire me. I even numbered them. I ended by saying: "The aforementioned qualities are strongly supported by my teaching reports and reference letters, which were sent to you earlier. Seeing as your school board is seeking to employ the strongest possible team of teachers, I am sure that my application will be considered favorably. I am available for an interview at your earliest convenience." Would you believe it, the next week, I got many calls for interviews. I think I just had to show them that I really wanted a job and that they should not let the opportunity pass them by to hire such a great teacher. Just have confidence in yourselves!! I bet you are all awesome teachers!! Whether you revisit the school boards, send a letter like this or do follow-up calls, just sell yourself!! THEY should be exhausting themselves trying to hire YOU, not the other way around. Good luck!!
