We have a teacher shortage! At our school alone we have 3 general ed positions open and two special ed positions open. Last year we had positions filled by subs all year long and it looks like the same will happen this year.

Granted our pay really sucks, our governor thinks he runs our school system, we are in a contract dispute, and the federal government may be taking over the school system (hey maybe we will get COLA!) in November but if you really are looking for a teacher shortage look WAY out west! On the up side the kids are great and so is the weather, and the general public (not our state government) is Very supportive of teachers.
