I was offered positions in both So. CA and in No. CA, both large urban and small wealthy communities. I am in the San Mateo/San Francisco area. I understand that Santa Clara laid off a large number of teachers, but I haven't heard of any other CA district. I also heard that some of the very northern districts have lots of applicants. So far, I have encountered the shortage and need for teachers. Best of luck!
