long term vs class
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach in Canada so things might be different, but long term subbing generally tends to stay that way. If they have you as a sub, and you do a great job as a sub, they like keeping you there. They can always hire a new
teacher for a classroom position, but it is often hard to find subs. I wouldn't go that route if you can hold off for another year to see what comes up next year. Also they may feel that once you sign the contract you are obligated to stay in that position for the year - perhaps positions will open up after school begins and then you wouldn't be able to apply for them.

If you have a

fair amount of subbing with your current school perhaps it will work out and then you can keep your eyes open for any unexpected openings you can apply for.

Good luck with your job search.
