slick and polished

I'm not "slick and polished" either, and I admit to some real blunders when interviewing, yet I never gave up trying to get a teaching position, because it was what I wanted to do. I even admit to hating myself at times after the interview process. I have been working full-time for years, but I haven't forgotten what it was like to go through what you are going through right now. Keep on trying. Do what I did: Never give up!
