interviews
By vkj

Clip to ScrapBook
A few weeks ago, I was involved in the interview of a young, new teacher candidate. She did not do well with the interview process either. She seemed so nervous and unable to think about answering our questions. I remember
just thinking that I wish she could relax and smile. As you stated, though, some people aren't able to relax in that situation. Please don't give up on the profession, though. Interviewing is part of the process for most jobs. Think about the questions that are being asked and maybe come up with a few "safe" answers. Think about how much you love schools, teaching, and children and try
to come up with a way to convey that to the interviewers.

I wish I could give you better advice or suggestions. Just because you are uncomfortable in an interview doesn't make you an unworthy candidate. I know it's frustrating, but practice does help.
