    I fit the things we are learning through UoS into the 6-Trait categories.

    For example:

    Conventions
    *Start each sentence with a capital letter.

    *Use question marks for questions.

    *Use the word wall, words around the room and your personal dictionary to help you spell.

    *Names start with capital letters.

    Sentence Fluency
    *Add words with a caret.

    *Re-read your story.

    Voice
    *Add details to your words and pictures.

    Word Choice
    *Choose the best word. It is not always the easiest word.

    Organization
    *Tell your story on your fingers (First, and then, and then...).

    Ideas
    *Look back at other pieces for new ideas.

    *Write about the most important part.

    *Write about a small moment.

    *Write about things you know.
