those interview jitters
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I am a full-time teacher now, but I have been through what you describe. On one of my very first interviews a principal asked me: What is/are your weaknesses? I suddenly developed lockjaw! I could not open my mouth to say
a word! I wasn't prepared to answer that question, instead I had reviewed all possible questions about teaching. The principal laughed pleasantly, then said, "That's all right." We continued with the interview. I felt that I must have seemed very foolish and inexperienced. I didn't get the job, but I don't believe that it was because of that one question. Interviewers are really
nice people, I have come to learn, and they just want to get to know you. Keep that in mind the next time you go in for an interview. With more practice and more self-confidence, you will be less likely to suffer from a panic attack, and yes, you will get a job.
