I, too, live in the Detroit metro area and have had trouble getting interviews. We happen to live in an area "saturated" with teachers looking for work. There are many other factors involved as well, most of which are political. It can be very discouraging. (I recently vented my frustrations on the Vent Board). I guess I'm fortunate to have a 1st grade teaching position in a parochial school, but it's not where I want to be. I don't have the answers, but I do know this: I WILL NOT GIVE UP! DON'T YOU GIVE UP EITHER! Good luck to you.
