my thoughts By Chris

I also interviewed for a position at my children's school, although I am a recent grad. I did not get the job either, and later found out there was another opening in the school that I was qualified for, but was not re-interviewed.I had been active (VERY) in the PTO for 10 years and had also worked for the Park District on site at the school for 10 years, so I knew EVERYBODY! I considered many of them as friends. My reflection on the situation: This may have been why I didn't get the job. The teachers & staff have come to know me as the PTO newsletter "mom" and the "Extended Time (aka babysitting) | | lady". Perhaps the administration thought that I would have a difficult time "fitting in" (being accepted)at the new "teacher" status. This somehow, made me feel better. I have since been offered another position in the district at a different school, so perhaps there's still an opportunity out there for you! Hope this helps...and good luck!
