I'm not sure if I'll be helping or making things more confusing as I live in Canada.

But....

Usually each school district has it's own policies. I would call up the district in your area to find out more about the credentials they expect and where you can obtain them. This will give you a better idea of the educational requirement.

My brother recently moved to the States. He had to have a job that was sponsoring him to get a temporary Visa. It took us quite awhile to find out all the information regarding visas, citizenship, etc., Your best bet is to find the government section that deals with immigration and citizenship and ask them about this. Or even perhaps the colleges or universities would have some information as well.
