Job Offer
By L.P.

Clip to ScrapBook
I was in a similar situation and took the job. Now, I'm very glad I did. The district I was waiting on never called, even though I was currently working for them as a sub and had worked there for years as an assistant prior
to earning my degree. After talking to my classmates, very few of whom had any prospects other than subbing, and from what I read on this board, I feel very lucky. The district I will be working in is smaller and I have to drive a little farther, but I will have my own classroom and kids. And that's what I dreamed about all the time I was in college.

A good way to help you decide

would be to make a pro and con list. Is this the grade level you want? Can you work with these people? What kind of a district is it? And just how interested were these other districts? A maybe thing or a for sure proposition? Weigh the options and then make your decision. Remember, too, If you do decide to take the job, you won't be locked into this position forever (that's something I considered). If it doesn't work out, there's always next year. Good luck with whatever you decide.
