We did it last year and I HATED it. I felt like I could never extend what I was teaching to my class because I didn't really know what everyone was learning. Though I trust my grade level team, I knew that the students who stayed with me were getting the best of me, but how could I be sure the same was always true in the other classes?

This year we switch for 30 minutes a day and it is not for instruction but for skill remediation or extension, depending on where they are at. This I LOVE and the kids enjoy it too, but switching for the whole reading block is not something I will ever be doing again.
