There are jobs here and throughout the state. Some are in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Wasilla but some are in the villages too (that's where the lifestyle changes would come into play). The best bet is to sign onto the districts website (Anchorage School District, Juneau School District, Fairbanks, and Mat-Su). Those are the main districts. To teach in the smaller communities or villages you would have to google districts in rural Alaska. I don't think our cost of living in the cities is any more than many places in the states.
