portfolio suggestions
By Janelle

Clip to ScrapBook
I am getting my degree in Special Ed this Saturday, so I may be a little new, but here's a suggestion...I would definitely send out your resume and apps now and work on your portfolio in the meantime. I just took a class
on portfolios in college and it was the most beneficial class of all...here's what I was told to include and it's up to you: creative strategies for every subject, behavior strategies, IEP, classroom management plan, resume, 1st page should be philosophy of teaching/education, at the end, save a section for comments and letters. Be sure to include letters from previous students and employers.
The hardest part about a portfolio is that as much as you want it to be creative looking, be sure it is very professional. Finally, be sure it reflects you!! Hope this helps....
