Check with the office of your regional director of education. They should be able to give you info on reciprocity agreements. The "Illinois State Board of Education Minimum Requirements for State Certificates" says: Effecive 8/1/1995, the Illinois State Board of Ed. joined the Interstate Certtification Agreement. As a result...,out-of-state applicants will receive a standard teaching certificate through reciprocity if the following requirements are met: 1) Possession of a valid, comparable standard teaching certificate from one of the states listed below with which we have reciprocity: AL, | | CA, CO, CN, GA, IN, KY, MD, MA, MI, NH, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VR, VT, WA, WV, DC 2) Submit evidence of completing a State-Approved Teacher ED. Program ..OR..submit evidence verifying a min. of 3 yrs of teaching experience on a valid teaching certificate w/in the previous 7 yrs. 3) and successfully take & pass the required IL certification tests.A Provisioanl Certificate will be issued to those applicants who have: a) requesed issuance of a Provisional certificae, b) have me he criteria detailed above, and c) their only deficiency is the Illinois certification tests.
