How about adding these to our repertoire:

* Is there a school wide(or district wide) discipline plan or program in effect? Please explain it. You may want to know this BEFORE you accept the job. In our district have the
same system of "pulling cards" at each school so if you transfer schools it's the same program.

* What kind of support staff does the school have? (librarian, music, art, social worker, full time nurse, police liaison, special ed/gifted resource, aides, tutors, etc.)

* What kind of support does the Parent/Teacher Organizaion provide. How active (or inactive)?
(You want to work with

concerned parents, but not controlling parents. Some PTO's are the sole source for those assemblies and those extra $$'s that can help you start up your classroom.)

* What about parental involvement (in the classroom)? Does the school encourage or discourage the practice of parent voluneers. You may have to do all that xeroxing and paper cutting yourself!

Any other ideas?
