I, too, have a closed file; however, all of my recommenders gave me a copy of their submission. Jessie doesn't have that luxury. My feeling about recs is that if the person recommending me does not give me a copy then I wouldn't want theirs. It might sound like I am advocating rudeness, but really, shouldn't we know what's going out to perspective employers. With today's world, especially here in the east, recommenders have to be VERY careful about what they say. Here in the east, people & companies have been sued royally for their words, both good and bad.
