Job Search By Pam

I called the districts I was interested in that are close to me and asked them for applications. After completing the applications, I spent two days hand delivering the applications. I also visited schools in each of the| districts and left a resume and letters of recommendation with the school secretary. I applied at 15 districts and visited about 40 schools. This was about 5 weeks ago. To date, I have had two interviews (one already rejected and the other one not to make a decision for another week and a half or so). I also have two more interviews coming up in the next two weeks. I believe exposure | | is the best way. The more schools and districts you let know that you are interested, the better your chances at getting hired. The credential program that I am going through suggests not to limit yourself. I know several o the other students in the program are only applying with the district the program is run by, but they are willing to accept anything from K-6. I, on the other hand, I am only interested in working in 1-3, so I broadened the number of districts I applied at. Hope this helps. Pam
