It was nice

That's inspiring. My fifth graders are nasty and mean, too, and not especially hardworking, but I did find it inspiring when they worked so hard at Terra Nova at the end of March. It helped me realize that they could come through when they really needed to. Also, some of my worst behaved over the year have become the best role models and leaders, even to the point of breaking up fights and showing a great deal of concern for a sick or injured classmate. There probably really is kindness underneath the rough exteriors.
