Contacting Parents
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been in the same boat -- and my first year I was told to send "behavior" notes to some parents daily regarding students behavior. This behavior was more than talking out (it was yelling screaming, arguing, etc.)

I
found that it did nothing to help with the child's behavior in class. It became another set of paperwork that I had to do and became a huge drain on my time. And, the parents began to expect the reports.

This year, I had the smae problems that you do almost to a T. I just posted and sent home consequences and buddy I stick to them. If they lose three tickets (earn three tallies), they

lose recess. No exceptions. If they get out of their seat, they lose a ticket.

I also give plenty of rewards. Anyway this has worked for me, and thankfully I do not do behavior sheets.
