    Do not give in. Be consistent. Tell him your consequence then turn away. Perhaps you should offer rewards for positive behavior. Then, you wouldn't have to take something from the boy. You simply wouldn't give him anything.

    I had a student like that, and I think he was OVER disciplined at home almost to the point of abuse. It got to the point that I figured out that if he got into trouble at school (lost a ticket) he would really get it at home. So, I used the positive reward system. It worked much better. Because I didn't take something away, ticket, recess, he didn't panic thinking about what was going to happen to him at home.
