greener pastures?
By Kimbrielle

Clip to ScrapBook
I've been reading the other posts, and I've discovered that so many other teachers have it worse, as in not getting plan time ever, or not getting a lunch break. There is so many demands on teachers with little respect or
appreciation, not to mention being underpaid.
I'm not here for the money, I'm here for the kids, but let me tell you not being appreciated wears me out, plus all the roadblocks the administration puts in my way, that at times seem designed to keep me from doing my job. I know life isn't fair, and I don't expect showers of compliments, either. But I also know that most jobs give their
employees breaks, and those employees aren't expected to give up so much that teachers give up everyday all across the country. Yes, I love the kids. Yes, I love teaching, but like all people I get tired, and need to raise my voice in frustration.
I'll probably be in this district for a long time, and so far this has been my best year. Over time the little things add up, plus the big ones, and I can't help but wonder what things are like at other districts. I'm just wondering about the greener pastures. Maybe, they aren't so green, and maybe my own is just fine. Thanks for listening to my venting.
