I was once in this situation, only I was teaching at a middle school at the time. In April of that year, the fire alarm went off. We all filed out of the building to the football field. As we stood out in the field with 600 kids, we learned that there had been a bomb threat. We stayed out in the football field for two hours while waiting for the bomb squad of Charlotte to inspect the building to determine if it was safe to return to. Finally, it was determined that it was a hoax--there was no bomb--but many people were still afraid to enter the building. The rest of the day was pretty chaotic because of this.
