I had a student a couple of years back with serious problems. All the kids would be working and he would jump up and attack them with his pencil. Just one of many incidents. Well needless to say he was not my favorite student. I even went so far as to have nightmares about him attacking me.
Well we survived and he went on to the next grade and boy was I happy. That following September the first student to stop by and say hello was him, my nightmare. He said, You are my favorite teacher." I didn't know what to say, so I said, I'll never forget you.
