Pacing Guides
By ME

Clip to ScrapBook
Our system has worked the past two summers working on a Pacing Guide/Task Analysis for Literacy, Math and Science. We used experienced teachers from each grade level k-12 who used our state curriculum and Blooms Taxonomy
to set up a
"suggested" pacing guide that insured that the curriculum is covered. Teachers have some flexibility but one of the reasons for the guide was alot of student mobility within our system...and by having continuity within the district we insured that each child received the education they deserved and did not miss out on part of the curriculum. At the end of each published
part is a form for teachers who use the materials each year to suggest changes. Revisions can, and will be made ...we are not perfect and we do make mistakes.
In each part there also is a list of suggested resources, internet sites, literature, field trips, lessons etc. It is intended to help the old pro AND the new teacher..not to restrict as some of you have suggested.
