now you see it, now you don't By Rebecca

My best friend teaches in a different school system than I do. Last year all I heard was what a headache they were having doing this new curriculum mapping. I had not heard about it yet. What she, and you, have described is craziness to me. I agree that those who make the tests haven't a clue about my children! All children do not learn in the same way and in the same time frame. This year, my friend has a new principal and he has done away with all the curriculum mapping after all the work they spent on it. I too think it is a fad. Your principal might want to do a little more research on it. | | While I'm on the subject of fads, all these things they are calling "new" (cooperative learning, peer tutoring, etc.) are not NEW ideas. They have been around for ages. They have just been given new names. Now you see them, now you don't. Then in a few years, they'll be back around with another alias. I'll get off my soapbox now. Good Luck Julianne!
