"moving the wrong students"
By Tabitha

Clip to ScrapBook
Unfortunately I am not surprised that the principle wimped out. Mine does the same thing. I teach 5th grade with 5 other teachers at my school. At the end of each year we go all out for out 5th graders. They are the big kids
in our building and have a lot to deal with. Leaving their friends, routines, and teachers to go to the junior highs the next year. We have a luncheon and a graduation plus other fun things before graduation. We have it were our fifth graders got out of school three days before the little ones. Well they could stay home and it wouldn't count against them. Most of them would but we still
had the ones that couldn't let go or their parents couldn't find day care or trusted them enough to let them stay at home alone come in.
The point of this is that each eyar we have to fight with our Boss to get our students this privliage. Each year we get other teachers (different grade levels) that never mind thier own buisness and always have an opinion about everything but what truly matters. Sticking thier noses in our business when it comes to our 5th graders. They think that we get to have free time and just sit and party all day when the kids don't come in. NOT the case we always get some that come back and we put them to work in the rooms helping us or the specilaists. I fight it because our 5th graders always get blamed for everything in the school and some how we thier teachers get blamed as well. I take blame when I do something wrong NOt when I or my students don't. So each year it becomes a fight.
I wish my boss would stand up for us (the 5th grade teachers and our KIDS). I hope it will change this year! I can deam can't I!
