lunch
By Theresa B

Clip to ScrapBook
We get a 25 minute "duty free" lunch by law. It is not funded, which means we have to use paraprofessionals to monitor. We take our kids to the lunchroom, wait until they are all seated, usually about 10 minutes, and then we are free to leisurely eat until it is time to dismiss them about 15 minutes later. If you warm your lunch, you have even less time to eat. And my family wonders why I eat dinner so fast. I tell them that if I don't choke down my lunch in 10 minutes, I don't eat. Don't even get me started on the lack of restroom breaks. Either I stay dehydrated, or I walk my kids to lunch and the bus with my legs crossed.
