A lot of Teachers are quitting here By Jacko

In my state, teachers are leaving the profession in droves. The state has simply increased pressure on teachers and many are waking up. Increased safety concerns both physical and mental are becoming more evident. As | for pay, not many police departments or ministries require a legitimate 4 year college degree from an accredited university. Nurses make a lot more money than teachers (especially with experience). Society appreciates your salary as much as they do an increase in their property tax. People always say teachers deserve higher pay, but rarely do they believe it enough to actually do | | it. As for the respect....a friend of mine in a different school was cussed out and threatened buy a student for simply asking him to stop talking. What did the administrators do? They said he overreacted and sent him back to his class. What other profession would allow this outrage? How about if a teacher cussed out the administrators? Would they simply let me back into my classroom? i don't want to hear this bs about teachers are adults and students are children...what a weak excuse. Right is right, wrong is wrong. I know of no other profession (except prison deputies) where such garbage is deemed acceptable. BTW, this has happened several times(in some similar fashion) with other teachers that I know or have heard of. Walk down the halls of any middle or high school and your ears will bleed from the use of profanity. WHAT OTHER WORKPLACE TOLERATES THIS??????? This is simply one incident of the lack of respect towards classroom teachers. Physical safety of teachers is not a high priority, but all hell breaks loose if a child is even remotely at risk. I wish educators realized thet they are as valuable as any student they teach. Point being, teachers are the low man on the totem pole (whether you like it or not) and always will be until someone stands up.
