Although you were surprised to find the name on your list and felt butterflies, I think you will be able to handle it easier than you may think. Maybe you did feel butterflies a few years ago..I understand, for years ago
I did too when I met an old flame. Also, I have taught many of my former classmates children and had to deal with them. I was a bit leary of it but never had a minutes problem. Mostly, you will probably not see him but his wife, since around here Mom's,not dads, are much more evident at the schools. Since you were professional enough to be concerned about your response, I am sure you

will be professional enough to handle the child beautifully. You may even see some of the traits in the child that liked in dad, and may have a terrific year with that child.
You may even learn a little more about "old flame" and go home and hug your spouse....thankful that you made that choice! Sometimes as old folk (and I am old) we fantacize what was and fail to see what is right there for us everyday.
Go and have a great year! Enjoy your children and your husband. You are just being human!! and some of the best teachers are in fact, very in-tune, and humane!:-)
