disappointed and shocked
By RR

Clip to ScrapBook
I am sorry that you have had such "attacks" to your question. I was really disappointed and shocked that others calling themselves professionals would react in that manner. Like I always tell my students, "No question is
a dumb question. If you don't know, just ask". I hope they will take that advice when working with their students! I understand that you would not treat the child differently. But we all have feelings and this has nothing to do with our professionalism. I have run across former boyfriends children in the years of teaching. They may be feeling a little nervous too. Just talk with them
about their child as you would any other parent and just don't mention anything about the past. The first time will be the hardest but it will get better! I wouldn't even mention it to my principal. Good Luck!
