Feelings are Feelings
By Richard

Clip to ScrapBook
I totally disagree with the first responses! Your feelings are just that, feelings. They are not a mark of your professionalism. How you deal with them is. By coming here to discuss it with other professionals is being professional
in my book. This is just a different problem than most of us have had to face, and like other problems, until you have to face them, you don't know how you will react.

Of all the people that use these boards, some may have had similar experiences. I specifically don't, but I can empathize with you. A few years ago I run into an old girlfriend and know how it made me feel at

that moment. I'm not talking about thinking those old feelings were real, just that they popped out. And like I said before, just having a feeling is not in itself a problem, just how you deal with them.

As far as your first meeting, it will probably take him by suprize too, and you will both probably end up laughing about it. If he has problems with it, then at most he will be just one more of those parents that can be pills, his is just a different flavor.
