"hurt feelings"

When I found out that this child was in my room the first thing that came to my mind was that I would have to "walk on eggshells" around her because her parents could say that I was "picking" on her because of the old boyfriend| thing. I came here for advice on how to handle that situation, but I really didn't say that in my original post. This morning I came here to see if anyone had any suggestions before I went to school because I thought that her parents may come in to meet me today(second day of school). When I read the responses I couldn't believe that I was being "attacked" for asking a question. | |
The child seems to be one of the higher students in the room, so I really don't think I will have any problems...I just dread that first meeting when he realizes who the teacher is!!! Oh well, I guess this will keep me on my toes this year. Thanks for the support--I really did need that!
