Striking doesn't help!

Striking isn't the answer. We went on strike last year (the whole state of Hawaii- public schools and public universities)and let me tell you it didn't help! We lost almost a month of pay and have nothing to show for it. The contract we agreed on was okay, BUT here is the kicker the contract will not be honored because teachers with a masters or higher would get a 3% differential for 2 years- but the state said they didn't realize that so many teachers had a masters degree so therefore they will not honor any of our contract. We are stuck- no one really wants to strike again (when you get paid so little it takes awhile to recover from a month of lost wages)
