why bother here?

In regards to Jacko's first post in this thread. If teachers are as spineless and down-trodden as you seem to think, why bother wasting your time posting here? Shouldn't you be out looking for a job? Is it really fair to compare your sorry situation to classroom teachers everywhere? Would we all be doing this if it was as thankless as you say? By the way, plumbers, electricians and other various laborers don't have their salaries paid by tax payers...that does make a huge difference.
I love my job and feel fortunate to be a teacher. I am proud as hell, and I certainly have a spine, if you didn't notice. So speak for yourself and good luck in the business sector...I heard the grass is always greener there.
