I often wonder why teachers put up with the working conditions, low pay etc and yet continue to pay dues to the union that does next to nothing for them. Next time you all are paying your dues, check out the working and living conditions of the union personel you are supporting and ask yourself if it makes sense. But I guess when they feed you the ego-stroking bit about how you make a diff for the children then that makes it all ok. Hummm...why aren't they in the trenches along with you then. Jacko is right-teachers need to wake up and smell the politics.
