I understand
By Jennifer

Clip to ScrapBook
I was a sub for a year before I got hired on full time. I felt the same way you did. I worked in an elementary school but the conditions were similar. Kids throwing chairs, using curse words to me that I've never heard
before, pretending to have sex with one another. All I can tell you is that I've had very few problems managing my own classroom. It's a completley different world when it's your own. You make the rules, not simply enforce someone elses. You have a chance to develop rapport with your kids over time. Let's face it--being a sub is a job people don't respect. The kids know they don't
have to deal with you the next day. Please give teaching at least two years in your own classroom (I say 2 years because the first one is hell). You sound like the kind of teacher we really need!
