WOW!
By Jennifer

Clip to ScrapBook
WOW! I am a fifth grade teacher that had a rowdy group of kids last year. Nothing can compare to what you posted. I truly feel for you and other subs that walk into this kind of chaos on a daily basis. I subbbed for 3
years before FINALLY landing a job in a decent district. If you have always dreamed of being a teacher than DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!! If you believe you can achieve...that is my personal and class motto. Keep working at it because you will have your own classroom one day. I know, I know, you need advice on how to survive a day in that class. I can try and help. I could help better
if I knew what grade you were teaching but here it goes:
1. Try to implement some type of reward system in which they can earn a prize geared toward their age group...Maybe the class can earn soemthing together for the whole class, like a movie, or a pizza party...
2. Really try to reason with them and talk about how their behavior makes you feel. (maybe??)
3. Be consistent on punishments and rewards.
Well, I hope I at least sparked your mind a little...sorry if not.
