Team Leader

Congratulations! This very same situation happened to me and this is now my 3rd year as team leader. All of the teachers on my team are older and have taught longer than me except for one. The main thing and hardest thing
for me was and still is getting teachers to turn paperwork in to me on time. I give a deadline and 3 or 4 of 10 don't do it. They know (KNEW) that I would come and ask for it. Well, I don't have time and this year, I turn in what I've got and put a note in their box that when they complete it, they can turn it in to the principal themselves. If the principal wants to do something

about their late habits, she can. BUT IT'S NOT MY JOB! I am not angry. It is just hard for me to do that. i am a very nurturing person and I don't want to get anyone in trouble. But I also was giving myself major stress fretting over a few teachers who will never change their ways.

Always ask for ideas from the team and better ways to do things. Your way is not the only way and everyone likes to hear that you are not a dictator. I had one of those and everyone breathed a sigh of relief when she moved on.

Our team also goes out several times a year to dinner on a Friday after school. No family--just us. We vent and gab and have a great time. It may not fly where you are, but we love it!
