The "veteran" teacher

I, too, am considered the "veteran" teacher. I was actually the team leader after my first year, and now I am again as I enter my third. It is flattering to think that I was given this position, however I do know that there| wasn't much choice either! The other two teachers in the team are wonderful, but they have LESS experience than I do (one has 1/2 year, and the other has 1 1/2 yrs.). And we teach the grade that gets the state-wide test in May. And they wonder why our test scores aren't the highest! (They aren't the lowest either, and I think that says a lot!). but I just give the best advice that I can when these teachers come to me and I remind them how long I've been teaching! I am looking for a true veteran teacher who can be my mentor, but it is hard!
