Place three chairS at the front of the room facing the class. Have three students sit in those chairs facing foward while the teacher writes the word from their spelling list on the board behind them. Students at their seat must use synonyms or clues to help them guess the spelling word thats on the board. When a student thinks they know the word, they jump out of their seat, wait to be called on, and must spell the word correct to win. That person calls two students up to face him/her in the next round. If they get it wrong, another student can stand up (in the group of three) and try.
