"back to shool supplies"
By Tabitha

Clip to ScrapBook
Most of those lists that I have seen in Walmart and other stores are not what most teachers even want. I don't understand a lot of it either.
I actually told one parent who was arguing with her kid that she just might
want to get a pack of pencils and a wireless notebook for the first day of school. Then wait to see what the teacher really wants because the desks are small and there is usually no place for them to store things. She said thank you and did just that.
I have such a pet peeve when it comes to buying school supplies before the first day of school. I have set items that I want my students
to have and won't take up to much space in their desks. I want my students organized and I try to teach this through out the year. I usually buy pencils and notebook paper for the first day so mine don't really need to bring anything to school on the first day. I even provide a folder or envelpoe to take all the papers the parents need to read, fill out, sign, and return. I plan on calling my parents in about a week and a half and telling them to wait to buy supplies until they get the list. My mom would only buy us a pencil and notebook until we got our class list that first day. I wish other Moms would do the same.
