What are you to do?
By Amy Lee

Clip to ScrapBook
I used to be strict on students bringing supplies to class. I do have an incentive for students who are prepared for class. I supply notebook paper (torn from spiral notebooks) and pencils (I find) for students to use. I decided it wasn't a battle I was willing to fight anymore. Students know if they don't bring in their own supplies they will have to use second hand supplies and this usually takes care of students being prepared.

I feel sorry for my students who have no one to buy their school supplies. It is sad when I child gives me their lunch money to buy school supplies for them. I tell them to keep the money and I will buy what they need.
