Wow! Our school is going through renovations like yours. We are not allowed back into our classes until the 27th the day before we have to report for inservice. Usually we get the week before, but NO the renovations are still
not done. Most of them were started during spring break last year and the last week of school. I mean how long does it really take. If the workers really did the work it should be done by now. We still won't have one of the projects done until the end of Septemeber. That one was started three weeks before spring break. We had to endure floors shaking, loud banging, and skreeching sounds

for the rest of the school year and now for the beginning of the school year. I mean I know the building needs it, but for Gods sake how long do we need to endure the crap. I just hope and pray that my things get put back in my room.
As for the teacher bashing. I get real upset when I hear someone who has no idea what we go through and what we have to put up with. All they think about is that we get summers off. Which is not necessarily true becasue we have to go to meetings, classes, and workshops to keep our certifications going. I have told off many people who critize teachers and say that those who can't teach. I worked in banking and retail before deciding to finish my degree and teach. I say those that teach have heart and care. I better stop there because I could go on for ever and then I would raise my blood pressure. I can't afford that now!
