    monitoring other students' behavior

My feeling is that you shouldn't attempt to monitor other teachers' students if the teacher is there with the students. I had that happen to me once, and it still gets my hackles up when I think about it. You have enough of your own to watch, and trying to correct another teacher's students while she is there, in my opinion, is inappropriate. Let her handle her own kids if she is there. If she isn't around (let's say one is caught running in the hallway from the bathroom), feel free to correct the child.
