I also have had a "not so good" evaluation before when I felt I did a good job. I learned quickly. After my evaluation, I evaluate myself. Give examples of how you fulfilled each component of the evaluation yourself. Then when you go in to meet with and discuss your evaluation, you have your memory right there in your hands. Don't be vindictive. Just remind the principal that you did show problem solving when you.... and you did show classroom management when you....You get the idea. It may not change a thing, but you know what is right and you have something to back you up. When I reminded my principal of something I did, she changed my evaluation for the better. If it is that bad, there are channels in your district to remedy this situation. We can go to administration and be re-evaluated by them. Talk about pressure. Would you like to be evaluated by the superintendent?!? I also make it a point to stay away from the office. I take care of discipline amongst my grade level and if I need something from the principal, I write a note...and KEEP IT for my records. Keep your chin up, Ray, and have a great year! Let us know how it goes!
