I had just finished my first year at a new school (I have taught for nine years) when the principal
One thing I WISH my principal had done before he submitted my name as an involuntary transfer to Personnel was ask the other staff members if they wanted to transfer FIRST. Many of the people at my school live in the county and can drive the distance I could not. Another thing that irritated me was that there was a teacher who had ASKED for a transfer about the same time I was being arranged to tranfer, but the principal wouldn't hear of her leaving. It hurts to know that I was so unimportant that the principal would not take the time to sit down with me to tell me that I was being transferred. It also hurt that this other teacher was apparently more important to him than I was. So important that he was willing to let me go while he kept her there at his insistance. You are not alone, Ray, as a victim of dirty, ugly politics. It's everywhere, I fear.
