evaluations By Cathy-Dee

Perhaps you have misread your Principal, regardless though if you plan to continue teaching in this school or within your district you will need to make it through these evaluations. If you are doing things fine then you shouldn't have to worry. Keep notes, make a list of the extras you do, etc., so that if you feel your principal was not fair in the evaluations you have something to fight back with. I'm not sure what you meant about being singled out for extra work or professional development sessions - is this because you already do a lot and any extras would be obviously to add to your workload, | | stress level, etc., It is important to be willing to do extras and to participate in professional development activities. It is also important that these are fairly equally distributed among all the teachers, but in some years I would think some may do more while in following years others would.I guess a lot depends on what you want. Every career is like this, you have to make the boss happy. In the case of teachers we deal with both our administration as well as parents which can make the load difficult but not impossible. If you bend over backwards this year perhaps you will get a glowing evaluation you can use with your resume and next year a transfer will work out for you.
