Dress Code
By Tammy

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach in a small Catholic school and really thought there would be some kind of dress code since there is a uniform code for the children. The first year I dress very nicely (and ruined a lot of good clothes in the process).
Our principal wants us to be comfortable so he never enforces a code. If he feels that something we have worn is inappropriate he tells us and we don't wear it again. Jeans are not allowed on a daily basis but we have "grub" days where students and teachers can dress down. I usually wear casual dress pants and comfortable shirts that allow freedom to move and stretch. I do believe
that teachers should make an effort to look nice for their students. You should be able to tell who is the students and who is the teacher. Just because you're working with kids doesn't mean you should look like one. What if a parent comes in and wants to see you? I want the parents to know that I take my position seriously and show it.
